Hollow Mind

Lyrics

(1)

Silent views, hollow mind
Where you going?
Are you a thoroughbred kind?

Walk outside, take a look
Kick through the rubbish
'Cause you dont give a damn

Had enough, you seen it all
All the faces
How come you're so tall?

Silent views, hollow mind
Silent views, hollow mind

You had it all
You've seen it all, and that
But I reply,
"You don't know fuck shit"

Silent views, hollow mind

Hollow pieces how come so sore
How come so sore
How come so sore

Silent view, and hollow mind
Silent view, hollow mind
Silent view, and hollow mind
Silent view, hollow mind

Notes

1. This song is apparently about someone who doesn't have much to say and is shallow to boot. It's closer to the matter-of-fact than to the vicious end of the scale, though.

Dan correctly points out that musically this is reminiscent of the Fall's version of "Jerusalem."

Very slight differences on the last couple of verses. Here is what I hear:

"You had it all
You've seen it all - that
But I reply, you don't know fuck shit

Silent views, hollow mind

How come pieces have come so sore
How come so sore
How come so sore

Silent view, and hollow mind
Silent view, hollow mind
Silent view, and hollow mind
Silent view, hollow mind"

I think the spelling should be "thoroughbred", or is what's written above an American variant?

No, it was a typo.

Danny, I listened and changed it, but I got some slightly different results than you. If you feel strongly about any of it let me know.

Where's "Reprise: Jane - Prof Mick - Ey Bastardo"? Sure, it's a goof but it's part of the canon.

Huh, I guess either I forgot it or I could make the excuse that it's a cover, but that's kind of a tenuous claim to say the least. "Ey Bastardo" I guess is an original at least, so after several years you've found a song I missed. Care to transcribe it? If you don't wish to I'll get to it at some point, I have to make a note of it.

Musically, owes a debt to Jerusalem.
