Sinister Waltz

Lyrics

(1)

He must go down
He must go down
He must come down
He must

He must go down
He must go down
He must go down
He must come down

Was fraternising with a chimp
He embraced the hordes from east

He must go down
He must go down
He must come down
He must go down

He must go down
He must go down
Down with the (troops?)
He must go down

The reason for
The ironing board
So bless the floods
They know the... and the way (2)

He must go down
He must go down
He must come down
He must come down
He must come...down

And with this curse
He must come down

Notes

1. The above is a combination the blue lyrics book, my ears and the efforts of dj hollerbusch.  The vocals are characterized by effects and lots of mumbling...

Dan dug up the following:

"Simon [Wolstencroft] pushes him: 'And you played some keyboards on the "Sinister Waltz," didn't you Mark?' (He's referring to the 'Blue Danube' melody on a tinny Casio, accompanied by a vocal sung, literally, down the telephone.) Smith tilts his head back for a quick flex of the cackle muscles."

2. The blue lyrics book has the following for this verse:

Spring is here it brings the dolt
So bless the floods
They know the way
And with this curse he must come down

"The reason for
The ironing board "

There's also an ironing board in Return.

Dexter Waltz, comment #3

I buy "curse" rather than "troops", especially since there's a "curse" later in the lyric. And "reinforced the ironing board" seems right, as does "take those Olympic signs away".

I wasn't sure about "James" rather than "chimp", but now I think you're right about that as well.

Good work!
