Rude (All The Time)

(1)

Cool as a breeze she blows
Autumn she reaps and summer she sows
But she's rude all the time
Rude all the time

Where did you get your looks?
Did you get them from a book?
You look like you just don't care
[I really like your hair] (2)

Cool as a breeze she blows
Autumn she reaps and summer she sows
She's rude all the time

Where did you get your looks
Did you grab them while mugging a cook?
You look as if you don't care
What about your new head of hair?

You had to be, 1-2-3-4!

Cool as a breeze she blows
Autumn she reaps and summer she sows
Rude all the time
Rude all the time

[...]
You're a degenerated half-wit
And you live on a drop of milk from a thimble

[I wanna take you home
I wanna be with you
I wanna take you home
I wanna sleep with you

Cool as a breeze she blows
Autumn she reaps and summer she sows
She's rude all the time
Rude all the time

It's like when you're in love
The choice is hard and rough
Suppose I've got it wrong
A little something to end this song]

Notes

1. This is an Ed Blaney song, and was originally recorded by his band Trigger Happy in 1996; future Fall members Jim Watts and Dave Milner played on the song--Watts returns for the Fall recording, while Milner's long, long days were yet to come. I have transcribed what lyrics I can make out from the Trigger Happy version and attempted to compare them with the Fall version; the result is largely incorrect, I have little doubt. The lyrics in brackets only appear on the Trigger Happy version, whereas the italicized lines have been contributed by MES.

Dan: Blaney appeared on Terry Christian's radio show in 2005. According to FOF user "from":

Ed said it was about a cleaning lady who used to hang around the studio and had a thing going on with the bass player, and was indeed RUDE ALL THE TIME.

The Fall released an EP of this name but, incredibly, the title track was apparently left off by mistake.

2. This is Blaney's original lyric; MES can't bring himself to sing "I really like your hair" so he just says "Aaa-aa-aaah."
